Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are just 2 quick snapshots I got of Aidan before he went down for
a nap. He wasn’t very cooperative, but I just had to get some to send
his dad who’s out of town for his drill weekend for the Army (on his birthday!). I sprayed
Aidan’s hair black and went to visit my mom at her work. She didn’t
even recognize him! (He normally has VERY blond hair.) )

And….Happy Birthday to my wonderfully fabulous husband. It’s his “28th” birthday; he’s rolling back, too. ;) Love you Dan!

Changes coming! (St. Louis wedding photographers)

I just wanted to formally announce that I will be doing some restructuring of my wedding collections + prices, and my portrait collections will be restructured – though the prices will not increase. These changes will be in effect January 1, 2009. If you have already signed a contract with me, don’t worry, you’ll received the 2008 prices.

Also, I wanted to announce a little referral program for my clients. For each referral who pays either a portrait session fee or a wedding retainer fee, you will receive a print credit off your own future orders! Contact me for more details.

And….What’s a post without a photo? Am I right? Here’s a random shot from a gem of a session Aidan gave me a while ago. I seriously want to make nearly every shot a giant canvas in my home. Until that day comes, I’ll be happy with sharing it on my blog. Thanks for reading!

Tysa + Barry: A wedding ( St. Louis wedding photographer)

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of shooting a fabulous wedding for a fun, amazing couple. Tysa + Barry are so in love, and I had so much fun just being around them. They’re easy going, and it made for such a fun day for everyone. The scenery was beyond gorgeous. They were married in the romantic Old Peace Chapel near the Daniel Boone Home. Let me just tell you that place is a photographer’s dream! So much gorgeous natural light. It’s a small chapel – just perfect for their intimate ceremony. I loved shooting there, especially with such a great couple. Plus, they have one of the cutest babies ever! I loved having another opportunity to take pictures of the handsome little Collin. Check out this post if you missed their engagement session!

Mom and daughter getting ready at the salon. Could they look any more alike?

The bridesmaid was so excited with her hair! Isn’t she adorable?

Last moments with Tysa’s mom before the ceremony. I love these kinds of moments.

Snuggling Collin before the ceremony. Don’t ya love his cheeks?

Tysa was a gorgeous bride! Her dress + hair went together perfectly – old school glam.

Barry’s first look at Tysa coming down the aisle. I loved his expression – so full of love.

I think they were both a little overwhelmed with emotion.

Such a gorgeous ceremony location.

This was one of my very favorite moments of the day. Barry leaned in for a kiss way before he was supposed to; he had everybody in the chapel cracking up – including me! It was super sweet.

They make a beautiful family! I know you can’t see all of it, but Collin had the cutest little tux on for the wedding!

This one makes me laugh. They were just being silly – but I loved it!

We had some gorgeous light to work with after the ceremony.

Love the look on her face.

Can you tell they’re excited to walk into the reception hall?

First dance for Barry + Tysa.

They had a beautiful cake, and I bet it was delicious!

Thanks for sharing your day with us! I hope you enjoy your photos!

A Fantastic visit

Dan’s parents came in from NYC last Thursday for a short visit. We had such a fun time catching up with John and Heleena, and I think Aidan warmed up to them pretty quickly. With them, they brought a fabulous train set from Aunt Rachel (THANK YOU!!!!). He loves it more than just about anything – except maybe Barney (with whom he is utterly obsessed). We went out to breakfast, did a super mini photo shoot, toured the Super Wal-Mart, watched/listened to many, many games (hockey + football). The Welch boys are fans of every D.C. team there is. I’m only waiting for Aidan to begin his Redskins love affair, too. Although, I must stress that our child will be a Cardinals fan + a Mizzou Tigers fan – no matter how awful they are. Regardless, our little 21-month-old son can say “touchdown” and throw his arms in the air like the refs. Then he laughs hysterically when “Da da” claps for him. I’m so outnumbered.

John + Heleena were also brave enough to watch the little man by themselves for nearly an entire day while Dan + I were shooting a wedding. They’re probably still recovering because Aidan has a crazy amount of energy. Everybody claims he is the most energetic child they’ve ever met. Luckily I don’t know any better. I just know him. And he does keep everyone on their toes. Anyway, I think it was a good bonding experience for all of them.

Thanks for a fabulous visit you guys. I have more photos to post, but here’s just one for now. Miss you!

Picture perfect

I couldn’t have asked for a better day to shoot a wedding on Saturday. Barry + Tysa had the most gorgeous, picturesque day to become husband and wife. The ceremony was held in a small, stunning chapel near the Daniel Boone Home. It was the perfect location for a fall wedding. Congrats to the bride and groom – who probably are preparing for their honeymoon in Mexico! Have fun you guys. It was an honor to be a part of your wedding. Here’s one of my favorites of the day. I can’t wait to edit the rest of them!

What did I do to deserve this?

This crazy, energetic, loveable, sweet, crazy-haired boy? He gives me that little scowl, and he just melts my heart. Add that into a scene with some gorgeous light today and here you have it. A picture I’ve been waiting for. Thanks Aidan. You make every day beautiful.

Gretchen + Lenny: Sneak Peek (St. Louis wedding photographers)

One of my oldest and dearest friends, Gretchen, and her boyfriend, Lenny, allowed me the pleasure of photographing them in a mock “engagement” session recently. A gorgeous couple, pretty light and fabulous locations – what else could a photographer ask for? I had such a great time. Hope you like your sneak peek, you two!

I didn’t think I was going to be able to fit any in because we have so many commitments, but I made some time to fit them in the schedule! I’m really excited for holiday sessions. Christmas is, after all, just around the corner! Can you even believe it? These holiday sessions will be 20-30 minutes and can include up to 5 people. They will take place at a park in St. Charles – to be determined. The session fee is due at the time of booking. Several card options will be available. Miss Kaitlyn: Sneek Peek

With her lustrous, dark hair and enormous blue eyes, Kaitlyn was a photographer’s dream. I had the enormous pleasure of photographing Kaitlyn, who is 4 months old, on Saturday at her home. I had such a fun time – who can resist such little hands and feet and sweet smells of everything baby? Not me. That’s for sure. After some portraits, we did a mini-lifestyle portraiture with her parents and 2 brothers. It was so sweet to see how her brothers interacted with her. Thanks to Kaitlyn + her amazing family for inviting me into their home! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

New phone number

I should have updated this sooner, but if you can’t reach me, it’s because I have a new phone number! Sorry! I got a fabulous new Blackberry for my birthday (Thanks everyone!) and decided to go with a local number. It’s 636-322-8521. Please don’t prank me. :)

Mr. GQ

Our lovely friends Belinda and Katherine gave Aidan the most adorable hat before we left Texas, but unfortunately, he’s never really liked hats. After .5 seconds, the hats are usually on the ground. But we’re starting to progress. First, he began to like baseball hats because his dad wears them. Now we’re moving on to the wonderful gift from our friends, whom we dearly miss. Isn’t he handsome? (Thanks for the hat Belinda! I’m so excited he will finally keep it on for a few minutes!)

I had a busy Saturday with 2 shoots – one was a 4-month-old adorable baby girl, and the other was a really fun engagement shoot in Old Town St. Charles. I’ll give them sneak peeks tomorrow – so stay tuned!  Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.
