Waiting for baby

Just wanted to put a little update on the blog because I’m a little out of the loop. My sister is having a baby, and there have been some complications. Please keep her + the baby in your thoughts/prayers. They could use them. Thanks! I promise I’ll start returning emails as soon as I can. Sorry!

Here she’s killing time reading People Magazine.

Beth + Mike (St. Louis wedding photography)

On Saturday, I photographed another beautiful wedding for a truly sweet, fun couple, Beth + Mike. I was so glad we only had a few minutes of rain, which was just before the ceremony began at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caseyville, IL. Then it was off to Forest Park where the wedding party braved the blasting heat and a million other wedding parties. I had a blast with these guys! The evening ended with some super yummy cupcakes ( I even had one!) and lots of dancing at their fabulous reception at Windows On Washington. Thanks so much for making me a part of your day!

Justice (St. Louis wedding photographer)

This is my nephew. And I must admit, I haven’t seen much of this smiley face in the past year or so. The other day, I had a session with only him, and I was delighted when he decided to show me his “happy face” as Aidan would say. This little guy just celebrated his 5th birthday, and I think 5 is going to be a fabulous age for him. I see many more happy faces in his future this year.

I have many more to share, but I have lots of people waiting on wedding pictures, so here’s just one for now.

A grand day (St. Louis wedding photographer)

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing a truly elegant wedding. Every last detail was perfectly beautiful. Sarah + Matt are a fabulous couple, and it was so great to finally meet them.

Thanks for looking!

Sarah had some killer shoes, and I do mean that in 2 ways. They looked hot, but I can’t believe she could even walk in them!

Waiting to see Matt. I LOVE when couples chose to see each other before the wedding. We have so much more time for photography. I highly recommend it to ALL my brides.

First look.

This one cracks me up.

Their ceremony + reception took place at the Grand Renaissance, and it was GORGEOUS. Love this staircase.

The Muny in Forest Park is always a favorite for wedding photos. I was thrilled we were the only ones there. That NEVER happens.

Ok, now tell me, doesn’t he look like Kurt Warner?! I totally think so. He said he gets that all the time when they’re in St. Louis. (They live in Kentucky right now.)

I think this is my favorite shot of the day. And if you hadn’t noticed, Sarah loves to laugh. And I love that. I’m sure Matt does, too.

Matt’s dad + brother before the ceremony. What do you think they were up to?!

My wonderful hubby, Dan (an Army photographer), second shot this with me, and he captured this shot. LOVE IT.

The Grand Renaissance is a gorgeous, elegant place to get married. And the chandelier is to die for. Just amazing.

I have to tell ya that this cake smelled so incredible. Everytime Dan or I walked by it, we could smell the sweet goodness in the air. And I can’t say that I’ve ever actually smelled cake. I bet it tasted even better than it smelled. And it was so pretty, too.

Sarah’s sister gave probably the best wedding speech. Ever. I won’t get into the embarrassing details, but let’s just say everybody was entertained. Even Sarah.

Aaaah. First dance. They’re so perfect for each other. They’re beautiful people, on the inside and out. I’m so lucky I had the opportunity to share their day with them. Thanks you guys! I had an amazing time photographing your wedding.

Sweetness

Usually my son is the sweetest guy around. But for many weeks, that was NOT the case. He was crabby, whiney, angry and restless. And he would not sleep. I’m so happy to say, it’s all over. And now he has all his 2-year molars. Poor guy had ALL of them come in at the same time. How cruel is that?! I’m so glad to have my sweet, smiley little guy back. Oh, how I’ve missed him. And who doesn’t love a little extra sleep?

I still have to trick him to take a photo of them. He’s really over the camera. Now he always says, “No more mama’s camera!!!!” I’m hoping he outgrows it soon because my camera isn’t going anywhere.

O’Fallon Playgroup Mini-Session: Round 2

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of photographing another group of completely adorable little ones from our local playgroup. This was my first time working with triplets, and let me tell you, I don’t know HOW they do it. I struggle with just Aidan. Adding 2 more to the mix just blows my mind. I sincerely take my hat off to their mom + dad. They must be exhausted! All the kids who came to the mini-shoot were SO photogenic. I can’t wait to include a few of them on the website. Enoy!

O’Fallon playgroup mini-shoot

This morning, I held mini-sessions for members of our local playgroup. Let me just say that this was one good looking bunch of kiddos. So much cuteness, and let me tell ya, they kept me on my toes! Here’s a sneak peek.

I was so happy to capture this quiet moment yesterday’s bride, Sarah, had before the guests began to arrive. Many more to come.

Stephanie + Doug (St. Louis wedding photographer)

I’m so excited to share these images on the blog! What a beautiful, sweet, fun couple this was, and can I just say again how excited I was to second shoot with Alisha Clark?! It was so fun to see her in action, and to get to shoot a wedding at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. You can’t go wrong with a wedding there. Seriously. And the food was probably the best wedding food. EVER. Now, on to the pictures. And please forgive me, I couldn’t control myself. I had to post a million pictures of their gorgeous day!

Stephanie had an amazingly gorgeous dress. Perfectly elegant for a garden wedding.

All the girls getting ready at the Four Seasons.

Maid of honor showing off her guns!

Just got the dress on…

Success!

Veil time.

Stephanie + Doug decided to see each other BEFORE the wedding, which I HIGHLY recommend. It allowed for SO much more photography time, and the first-looks are always so sweet! I love how happy they both look!

The groomsmen were hanging out at the bar before picture time!

Then everyone headed outside for group photos on the balcony at the Four Seasons. Her veil didn’t want to cooperate, but it made for a great moment! I love “veil in the wind” shots.

Then it was off to the MO Botanical Gardens, where they got to see their dog aka the ring bearer. How cute is he?!

Before the ceremony, we had more time for photos of just the 2 of them, and we had some gorgeous light! Not to mention the fabulous locations Alisha chose. GORGEOUS!

By far, my favorite of the day. It makes me sigh. They are SO in love.

Checking out the rings and bustling the dress!

And on to the reception!!!

Wiping the tears (St. Louis wedding photographers)

I had the amazing opportunity to second shoot for the fabulous Alisha Clark tonight, who just so happened to be my photographer when I got married! It was a beautiful, touching wedding that made just about everybody tear up. Including me. I can’t wait to share more tomorrow!
