Several weeks ago, Candy, Michael and I tried to shoot their engagement session in Old Town St. Charles, but a crazy storm took over after about 30 minutes of shooting. So when Candy got back from a trip to Italy (LUCKY!), we did a little re-do shoot. These guys are so natural in front of the camera, and I could have photographed them all day!

We had some wonderful light this time.

Sneak Peek City

August 10, 2010

Still trying to get caught up. Over the period of 9 days, I had 2 weddings, a day-after shoot, an engagement session and 2 newborn sessions. Phew.

I probably could have blogged this ENTIRE session. Well, to be honest, I almost did. The light, the location and the couple = PERFECTION. I loved working with Mandy + Curtis not only because it’s so obvious how much they care for each other, but they’re also really comfortable in front of the camera. Now I know that doesn’t come easily for everyone, I’m one of those people myself. But these two rocked this session, and I am REALLY looking forward to their wedding in September!

The light. Oh my goodness. I love the light at Tower Grove Park pretty much always.

Love these 2 shots.

Aren’t they adorable?

My fave from the session.

Eskimo kiss!

Hello golden light. I love you!

Check out the back of her dress! Gorgeous. I thought this was a fitting parting shot. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

I apologize for slacking on the blogging lately!

Candy + Michael are getting married last year, and they were referred to me by a really fabulous couple I photographed last fall, Elaina + John. Candy and Michael are the ones I photographed for about all of 25 minutes right before a CRAZY storm. We’re going to do another mini-shoot to make up for it, but Candy is kind of busy…IN ITALY. Lucky girl! :)

There was no light on this day, and I had to rock some crazy high ISOs, but I loved this session. These 2 were incredible, and we were shooting SUPER QUICKLY the entire time, trying to beat the storm out, since they were in from out of town.

Thanks, Candy + Michael! I will see you again soon.

You know that horrible storm that rolled through St. Louis last night? Well we got this shot about 5.3 seconds before the downpour hit. I lucked out.

Our shoot was only about 25 minutes long, but I will have more to share. Stay tuned!

After re-scheduling this session TWICE, we finally had a day with some good weather and BRILLIANT sunshine at Lafayette Square – one of my favorite places to shoot! Matt and Carolyn were really great sports, despite the crazy St. Louis heat. I think it paid off, because I think we got some really great shots. When I uploaded the images from this shoot, I realized this was going to depart from my normal blog posts. Mainly because I normally LOVE black and white images. But not this shoot. Not this time. With the beautiful golden light, the beautiful greenery of the park, and Carolyn’s gorgeous purple shirt, I went mostly color.

Thanks Carolyn + Matt – I’m really looking forward to your Columbia wedding in July!!!

Kadie + Cole chose Forest Park for their engagement session because that’s where Cole proposed to Kadie, and it also just so happens to be where they’re getting married this fall! I’m REALLY looking forward to it. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love outdoor weddings!

Finally! Sorry I’ve been running a little behind, things are starting to get crazy around here! Last week I met up with Dana + Forest who hired me just for an engagement session. These two beautiful people are in St. Louis for med school, and they’re getting married in California, but they wanted their engagement pictures here in the STL. They chose Forest Park and the Arch because they live right there in the Central West End. (Oh how I miss that place! I lived there before having a family, and I absolutely LOVED it…Sorry for the random tangent.)

Anywho, on the pictures. It was so great to work with you, Dana + Forest. Best wishes on your wedding next year!

We had some GREAT light. Yay for spring. I so missed the sunshine during the cold months.

Ok, so this bridge used to be much more wobbly, am I right? I was there last year, and I remember it freaking me out. This year, not so much. Tell me I’m not imagining things!?

After making the rounds at Forest Park, we headed to the Arch forĀ  a few quick shots. My fave.

Here’s a quick look at what I’ve been up to lately! Full posts coming up this week.

Couldn’t decide between black and white and color – so I posted both.

I don’t even know how to begin, so I guess I’ll just say that I love, love, love this session. Autumn and Kellen are amazingly beautiful people inside and out, and I had such a blast photographing them. Throw in a beautiful location (Faust Park) and I’m in heaven. Let’s just say I’m pretty darn exciting for July when I get to shoot their wedding!

Originally, Katy, Steve and I had planned to meet at a great outdoor location for their engagement session. But mother nature had different plans. Luckily, here in St. Louis, there are plenty of great indoor locations for engagement shoots! Katy + Steve picked the City Museum in downtown St. Louis, and what a great choice it was. There are SO many unique areas to photograph, and I probably could have shot there all day! I highly recommend it for a great indoor shoot! Plus, you can always take a break from shooting and head down the 3-story slide, and that is really freakin cool.
