Caroline + Brett: St. Louis Engagement Photography

Caroline + Brett are from California. Can you tell?

These two are getting married in the sunshine state, but wanted to get their engagement pictures done here in St. Louis where they’ve been living for a couple of years. Caroline came here to get her law degree, and Brett came with her. What a great guy! I tried to get them to fly me to California for their beach wedding, don’t you think they should?!

Anna + Andrew: St. Louis Botanical Gardens Engagement Session

This engagement session was my first time meeting Anna + Andrew, and this happens quite a bit…Couples plan weddings from out of town and don’t have time to drive/fly in to St. Louis to meet with vendors. I’m always completely honored when I’m hired via email/phone conversations when they’re only seen my work online, never met me in person. Luckily, I did get to meet with Anna’s mom, but only briefly…

Anna + Andrew are just adorable, and we had the most perfect afternoon to shoot at the Missouri Botanical Gardens…Check out the lilies! They are amazing.

Lauren + Andrew: St. Louis Engagement Session

I’ve been SO lucky with my engagement sessions lately. This one was great because I got to pick the location based on Lauren and Andrew’s vision, and I think it turned out great. The light, the couple, the location. Gah. I wish they could all be like this. I could have shot their all day long. No lie.

This was a FUN shoot. It’s been a while since I’ve been to the CWE, so I was thrilled at the chance to shoot there. Kelly + Saurabh live in the Central West End, so it only made sense to shoot their engagement session there. I love the variety, the textures, the light. And I’m shooting their Indian wedding next month. Have I mentioned I LOVE Indian weddings? I. Can’t. Wait.

I was so lucky with some amazing weather in October. This session rounded out my engagement sessions for October, and it was a beauty! And I got to top it off with 2 beautiful people who are insanely wonderful in front of the camera. Seriously, they were so great and so affectionate – I can’t wait for their May wedding.

This was my very favorite from the day.

Kim and Kevin were so much fun, and they came to our shoot with so many fun ideas of their own. I LOVE that.

This was a fun one, you guys. Not only did we have a gloriously beautiful day at one of my favorite St. Louis parks with wonderful autumn colors, but this GORGEOUS couple brought along their handsome, 1 year-old Mason. Doesn’t get much better than that! This family was so sweet, and there is so much love between them. I’m pretty darn sure you’ll be able to see it in the pictures. Natalie – thank you for choosing me to be your photographer. I can’t WAIT for your St. Patrick’s Day wedding next year.

Brynne + Joel: Missouri Botanical Gardens Engagement

The day we were supposed to shoot this engagement session, it was POURING rain. The next day, the weather didn’t look much better -a gray, hazy day with threatening thunderstorms. We shot anyway because they were from out of town and had to drive back that day. We just had to make it work! Luckily, the sun ended up peeking out from some clouds, and we ended up having some pretty sweet light. We were SO lucky! You’ll be seeing more of these beautiful people after their 2012 wedding. I’m really looking forward to it!

Jackie + Danny: Lake St. Louis engagement session

Jackie + Danny told me they wanted a nautical themed engagement session. How were we supposed to make that work in the Midwest? Well, as luck would have it, they just bought their first house in Lake St. Louis, and we used that area for their shoot. I love when couples bring new ideas, a fresh vision to the table. It really sparks my creativity because I absolutely adore shooting in new places. I take pride in being able to shoot anywhere (and under any conditions, if need be). So a few days before our shoot, I packed up my boys and scoped out the lake. As luck would have it, I came away with tons of ideas and places to shoot…And I think a much different, unique engagement session that was SO much fun. Jackie + Danny are super easy going and in love, and I think it shows in their engagement pictures. Looking forward to their 2012 wedding!!!

Pretty light, pretty couple. I’m a lucky photographer.

Jackie is absolutely stunning – she has the most amazing eyes. I have such an easy job.

Sonja + Kyle: Forest Park Engagement Session

Sonja + Kyle are getting in their hometown back in the state of Nebraska (yes, I photographed them despite being Cornhuskers!) next year, but they wanted an engagement session in their new(ish) home here in St. Louis. We had enjoyed one of those last beautiful, summer days at Forest Park. Thanks, Sonja + Kyle! All the best to you both, and thanks for making this SUCH an easy shoot.

I love Sonje’s hair. Drool!

I think this is my fave. They’re such a beautiful couple.

Lindsay + Doug: St. Louis engagement session

Lindsay and Doug booked me for their 2012 wedding at the beginning of the year, but we had never met until their engagement session. I had no idea what to expect, other than the ideas Lindsay described in several of her emails. Her vision sounded quite beautiful, but I had no idea just the time and effort they would give this session. I was truly impressed with how elaborate their vision was, and I can’t even fathom how beautiful their wedding will be.

I think this may be my favorite. I love how she is looking at him. Doesn’t she look amazing?!

So many details…Lindsay made that sign herself.

Who doesn’t want to enjoy a little popcorn at their engagement session?

This was one of my very favorite details.

Lindsay and her mom picked the wildflowers from the side of the highway. I think the bouquet turned out beautifully.

And a homemade pie that Lindsay’s mom made for their shoot. Yum.

A quick outfit change, and we took advantage of the last bit of yummy light. We had to shoot fast, but they totally made it work.

Thank you, Lindsay and Doug for a fabulous shoot. I’m truly impressed with all the time you took to make this session special. I am SO looking forward to your June wedding.

Sean + Aneta: St. Charles Engagement Session

It is engagement session galore now that fall is here! Aneta + Sean’s engagement took place on a beautiful, warm St. Louis day. I’m so loving the light lately. It’s pretty dreamy. Sean is in the Army, and they had to squeeze in a session when he was on leave, but now it’s back to training. Thanks for a wonderfully fun shoot, you guys! I can’t wait for your 2012 wedding.

This was another scorcher of a shoot! Thank you to Jamie and Leslee for being such good sports in front of my camera on a crazy hot day at the wonderful Laumeier Sculpture Park.
