Nicole + Michael: Wedding (St. Louis wedding photographers)

From the moment I met them, I could tell how deeply in love they were. They hadn’t even booked me, and we sat at the table in Starbucks, looking through my work, and they were laughing the whole time…they were affectionate…And I thought – PLEASE let them hire me. I really want to have the opportunity to photograph their love. And let me tell you, it wasn’t hard to show it in pictures. We had fun at the engagement session, and even more at the wedding – despite the crazy June heat. The wedding took place at the lovely Cafe Demenil in St. Louis. It’s actually right next to the Lemp Mansion – who knew?! Not me. I love garden weddings. Not that I don’t enjoy photographing in beautiful churches, but there’s just something about weddings outdoors, surrounded by beautiful trees and scenery that just makes me sigh in happiness. And this wedding was no different. Nicole + Michael – It was an honor to be a part of your day! I hope you enjoy your photos.

I LOVED her choice of dress. Simple, yet elegant – and perfect for a garden wedding!

Could these flowers be any more gorgeous?! Loved the huge bouquet.

People always ask me, “Nikki, do you ever do traditional shots at weddings?” YES! I prefer to shoot mostly in a documentary style, but I absolutely do photograph group photos. I just like to have a little more fun than most traditional formal shots. And I think outdoors is WAY more fun than at the altar.

Nicole + Michael chose a fabulous location for their wedding. The ceremony was just beautiful!

So happy!

I really loved this moment RIGHT after the ceremony. They took a few moments away from everyone, and I just love their expressions.

Nicole got emotional during the speeches. They were beautiful.

I really loved this spot at the mansion. Nicole + Michael looked at me like I was crazy when I suggested it, but I think it turned out well. Hopefully they do, too.

Then it was party time! And let me tell you, these guests knew how to dance. Maybe they could give me lessons?!

Baby Clay (St. Louis newborn photographer)

Baby Clay arrived May 28 at 5:55 p.m. He weighed in at 7 lbs, 2 oz., despite being 3 weeks early. I can’t wait to share his birthday slideshow, but here are just 2 for now. He truly is a miracle baby.

Now I’m going to go take care of my own baby, who is NOT feeling well. Poor guy is running a slight fever and been pooing a TON. We’re going to the doctor in the morning. He’ll be so excited because he gets to play with the Legos. ;)

Miss Molly: A Newborn Session (St. Louis wedding photographer)

This newborn session took about 4 hours, and included lots of rocking, shushing and patience by her mommy and daddy. We got a few shots in the beginning, and they almost gave up, but they stuck with it, and FINALLY, we got that sweet little girl to go to sleep. And let me tell you, she is gorgeous. She has amazing skin, especially for a newborn. And her lips are to die for!

Newborn super sneak peek (St. Louis baby photographer)

What a crazy, fun week this has been! I had my trip to Indianapolis, several meetings with brides, and today I had a newborn shoot with an ADORABLE baby girl. Needless to say, my schedule has been all mixed up, and I’m not doing so well with eating right and exercising. I went to the gym only once, and that was in Indy at the hotel. In my defense, though, I did sprain my knee last week during my team workout, so that’s made it super difficult to do much of anything. I’ve decided I’m not even going to weigh in this week, BUT, tomorrow I’m getting back on track. Promise.

Now, on to baby fever. This little sweetie is 5 weeks old, and let me tell you, she gave her mom, her dad and me a run for our money this afternoon. She has colic and did not want to sleep. She wanted to cry. I felt SO bad because she and her parents drove in all the way from Kansas City to get her picture taken. Thankgoodness her parents were patient enough to stick it out for many hours, because at the VERY end of the day, she decided to cooperate and take a nap. And those pictures turned out to be the best ones of the day. I’ll have more tomorrow, but for now, I’m going to post one and then go pass out in my bed after a crazy week. Happy Friday all…

Tessa: A newborn shoot (St. Louis wedding photographer)

Round 1 with this sweet girl did not go so well, but luckily, she was wonderfully cooperative for round 2. Her mama and I were SO excited. She even slept for a few minutes of our shoot. Stop here if you don’t want to get the baby fever! :)

Her mom and I were so excited she was asleep for a few minutes. Her mom was so patient, and it totally paid off.

Doesn’t she have amazing eyes? They’re just so beautiful and alert!

This was her mama’s idea. The rocking chair was the baby’s great grandmother’s. Isn’t that sweet!?

My favorite shot of the day. I couldn’t believe she smiled! I love it. And look at her little toes peeking out of the cocoon. I could just eat her up!

More yummy baby toes. Who can resist those?

Check out these eyes! (St. Louis baby photographer)

Tessa’s eyes are so big and beautiful! This was a re-shoot from last week. We had MUCH better luck this time. She only peed on her mama one time. Here’s a quick little preview of  this little sweetie. I can’t wait to show the full preview. It’s coming tomorrow, along with a bunch of personal updates, too. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited Aidan and I are to have Dan home from Japan. Happy Tuesday everyone.

Baby Kendall ( St. Louis children’s photographer)

I have the great pleasure of taking portraits of Miss Kendall today. She’s the daughter of a dear friend, and let me tell you she was a photographer’s dream. She barely fussed the entire time. She cried a little bit when she was cold, but as soon as we had her snuggled and warm, she was such a trooper. I can’t believe she’s already 5 weeks old. What a great way to spend an afternoon – photographing a darling baby girl. I took photos of little Kendall when she was just born. You can see them HERE. And I also did her mommy’s maternity pictures, which can be seen HERE. :)

Here’s just one for tonight. Many more to come!

Kendall Elizabeth!

She has a name – and a beautiful one at that. And I know this is her third post, but you can never get enough newborn pics. Am I right? I think so anyway…And I’m pretty sure Miss Kendall will be making many more appearances on this blog.

I love the look on his face. Seriously. Does it get any better than that? That is love.

Her feet are sooo itty bitty. I don’t think Aidan EVER had feet that tiny.
