All I have to say about this session is that it was hands down one of my favorites. Ever. Can’t wait for their wedding next year!

I shot Lauren and Dave’s engagement session in St. Charles a few weeks ago. They’re a referral from one of my favorite 2010 brides, Katie. I really enjoyed our session because not only are Lauren and Dan one of the nicest couples I’ve ever met, the light and colors in Old Town St. Charles were PERFECT. I’m so glad we didn’t miss the beauty of the fall.
Looking forward to your September wedding next year!!

I probably could have blogged this ENTIRE session. Well, to be honest, I almost did. The light, the location and the couple = PERFECTION. I loved working with Mandy + Curtis not only because it’s so obvious how much they care for each other, but they’re also really comfortable in front of the camera. Now I know that doesn’t come easily for everyone, I’m one of those people myself. But these two rocked this session, and I am REALLY looking forward to their wedding in September!
The light. Oh my goodness. I love the light at Tower Grove Park pretty much always.

Love these 2 shots.

Aren’t they adorable?

My fave from the session.

Eskimo kiss!

Hello golden light. I love you!

Check out the back of her dress! Gorgeous. I thought this was a fitting parting shot.

Thanks for stopping by!

If you’re a longtime blog reader, you’ll remember when this lil guy was born. He’s my sister’s miracle baby, and he just turned a year old. Unbelievable. I can’t even believe it’s been a year since I documented his arrival into this world. Happy Birthday Baby Clayton!
Just a little mess.

Aidan always loves a good party. Especially when cake is involved.

Right in the eye. Oh boy.

All the kids want the baby toys.

For those of you fabulous blog readers who don’t already know her, Gretchen has been my friend for a bazillion years. Well, since 8th grade to be exact. We’ve been in junior high, high school and college together. And after college, the 2 of us picked up and moved to Florida together. It’s been a crazy ride, but I’m so happy to call her friend, though she’s more like a sister to me. When she got engaged last year, I was SO excited for her. And then when she asked me to be their photographer, I said YES, YES, YES! What’s more fun than photographing your friends on the best day of their life?
Well after trying to schedule an engagement shoot since October, yes October, we finally were able to arrange a day this week. And thank goodness for Lenny, who put up with both of us and all the locations and poses…Engagement pictures aren’t really his thing, as is the case with many of the guys I work with, but he put a smile on and did it for Gretchen. And that, my friends, is the sign of a good man! And thanks to both Lenny + Gret for picking Chandler Hill Vineyard to shoot many of their engagement session pictures! That’s absolutely one of my favorite places to shoot.
I am SUPER excited for their September. It’s going to be a blast, and I seriously can’t wait to shoot this wedding!

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of shooting the engagement of a fellow wedding photographer! Elaine + Chris live in Cape Girardeau and are getting married here in St. Louis. I was thrilled when they chose me as their wedding photographer, and I’m really looking forward to their October wedding! (No pressure!
) We had gorgeous weather, and I always love shooting in Old Town St. Charles. I find different places to shoot everytime I walk up Main Street with a couple. Love that!!!
I love ivy! Especially with her pink shirt.

Get a little closer…

How cute is that bench!?

One of my faves from the day. I could have shot in this little area all day! The trees and light were incredible.

Same spot, different angle + pose. Love this. They’re so cute together. Talk about cute babies someday!!!

Yup. They’re gorgeous.

My favorite.

I photographed my first wedding of 2010 over the weekend! I’m just going to let the photos do most of the talking! Thanks for looking.
Ceremony/reception: Marriott St. Louis Airport
Cake: Wedding Wonderland
Lighting/Design: Millennium Design
DJ: Millennium Music

First look!

I thought Millennium Design did a FABULOUS job with this wedding. The reception setup looked amazing.

This shot was cracking me up as I took it! Watch out for the paparazzi!

What’s a wedding without the duck dance? They said they played it for the flower girls (nieces). Uh huh. Suuuuure.

Tiffany + Mark – I had a wonderful time photographing your wedding. It was a great way to start of the year! I hope you guys are enjoying your honeymoon in the Bahamas!!!

My friend and fellow wedding photographer, Ashley Turner of Ashley Turner Photography is running an engagement contest called Flaunt Your Rock! All you have to do is submit a photo of your engagement session, and you could potentially win a free engagement session with Ashley! She’s an AWESOME photographer, so you don’t want to miss out! Get your pics in soon, and check out all the details on her blog located HERE. Don’t forget to spread the word to all your engaged friends!
PS If you’re not in Missouri, there are several other photographers in various states, as well as Canada, who are participating in the contest! You can get all the details on Ashley’s blog. Good luck!

Deanne, Matt and I headed out to Lake St. Louis on a VERY cold Missouri afternoon, but it didn’t stop us from having a great time at their engagement session. One word to describe this couple: ADORABLE. Even my husband says so. Normally he doesn’t really get into the editing part of the business, but he was walking by my iMac when I was editing a few for this blog preview, and he came over and said, “Wow! They’re an adorable couple.” See? Told ya. They’re SO in love, and they love to show it. And that makes for some really great pictures because what photographer doesn’t love a couple that’s so natural in front of the camera? First we headed out to Boulevard Park in Lake St. Louis where they had their first date. (How fun is that?!) And then we headed to the Meadows shopping center for a more urban feel. They chose the locations, and I think they did a fabulous job. It’s always fun to shoot somewhere new, and I strongly suggest couples try to find a location that is meaningful to them for their shoot. It will just make the pictures that much more meaningful down the road. So that’s something to think about for all you couples out there who are doing your engagement pictures next year. What place is special to you? Where do the 2 of you like to go? Where did you have your first date? Just something to think about….
And, are you ready to see this super cute couple? I bet you are!
Love this one. And look at her fab shoes!

FAVE.d

Aaaah. They’re so in love.

Snuggling to stay warm!

They’re cute AND talented. And I really want to know how Deanne’s hair looks amazing. Whether I was making them run, jump, snuggle, dance, it always looked great!

Peek-a-boo!

Sassy!

It was SO hard to cull through their session. I think this gallery is going to have a TON of pictures in it because I just couldn’t chose! These are just some very happy people, and it’s contagious! Can’t wait for the wedding, you two. We’re going to have a GREAT time.

So I’ve been getting a bunch of emails asking me, “What is a day after session?!” Basically, it’s just a session for couples to dress up in their wedding day clothes and go out for more picture fun without the stresses of the wedding day. Some brides choose to have their hair done differently, some may get their dress a little dirty by going places they normally wouldn’t on their wedding day. And let me tell you, they’re all sorts of fun! And no, it DOES NOT have to be the very next day after your wedding. In fact, I prefer it not to be. But if you’re interested, whether you got married last week or last year, give me a call. Promise we’ll have a blast.
Josh and Diane chose to hit up downtown St. Louis for their day after session. We went everywhere from the Arch grounds, to Keiner Plaza and the City Garden. Too fun!
My fave of the day…

These are for their thank you cards.

First time shooting at the City Garden. Loved it!

Diane is a beautiful girl, but she just looks extra amazing in this picture. I love it!

Sorry, but I never get tired of brides and grooms running. If you hire me, I’ll make you do it.

I wasn’t around yesterday to answer emails or phone calls. Where was I? Oh, hanging around Busch Stadium. On the field. And it was SO fun. Here’s a sneak peek from the COOLEST wedding. Congrats to Chris + Sarah. More to come!
This is Sarah’s dad, and he’s going to kill me for posting this. ![]()

The VERY happy couple. One of my faves I’ve peeked at so far!

Where have I been?! Shooting. And shooting. And shooting some more. This is a CRAZY time for me, but I’m doing my best to keep up with everything on my gigantic TO-DO LIST. It’s only about 10 miles long. Despite all the chaos that is my life right now (Have I mentioned we’re moving? Like in 8 days! Yikes!), I consider myself SO lucky to be doing what I’m doing. Because I love it. All of it. Each and every single day. And I’ve been lucky to have amazing couples to work with this year, and I can’t wait to show all my blog readers what I’ve been up to. But first, a long overdue blog post about the amazing wedding of Ying + Chen. There gorgeous ceremony took place at the Clayton Artists’ Guild. (Have I mentioned how much I love outdoor weddings?! They make my heart go pitter patter.) I loved photographing this couple because their love is utterly obvious. They show it all the time – check out their engagement session from a couple months ago. Especially Ying – she’s so expressive, and I love that.
And on to the photos…

Ying’s mom (who flew in all the way from China!) seeing her for the first time.

Yup. Never seen this many people helping the bride get her dress on. Love it!

I really liked the picture of this little guy. It’s as though he’s so proud of the job he’s doing – holding up Ying’s dress. Isn’t he adorable?!

I don’t shoot a LOT of posed shots. Some yes, but not a ton. I’m more into documenting your day than directing it. BUT, I love me some walking shots! (Even in full sun!)

Loved her flowers. Truly. I loved the softness of the colors. Already added this one to my website.

Pretty in pink!

Ying’s veil was gorgeous and LONG.

Just for the record – NOT posed.

I absolutely love the look on Ying’s face in this one. She’s just SO excited!

One of my faves of the day. *wink*

Ying + her mom. Another one of my faves.

Wow! This was a crazy long post. If you made it this far, thanks for reading/looking! Love my blog readers.
