Natalie + Kevin: St. Louis engagement photography

This was a fun one, you guys. Not only did we have a gloriously beautiful day at one of my favorite St. Louis parks with wonderful autumn colors, but this GORGEOUS couple brought along their handsome, 1 year-old Mason. Doesn’t get much better than that! This family was so sweet, and there is so much love between them. I’m pretty darn sure you’ll be able to see it in the pictures. Natalie – thank you for choosing me to be your photographer. I can’t WAIT for your St. Patrick’s Day wedding next year.

Kevin: Portrait Session (St. Louis childrens photographer)

I first met this little guy at Katy + Steve’s wedding a couple of weeks ago.. I was SO excited when his parents told me they wanted to hire me for his 9-month pictures. He’s just too adorable and smiley! Cute baby, great weather and a beautiful location make for a fabulous photo shoot!

Poor little guy was getting some teeth in, so he had his hands in his mouth for most of the session.

His mom and dad kept him occupied and entertained with a lot of singing and reading a book. He LOVED it.st. louis childrens photography

Kevin LOVES to fly. My fave of the shoot.

Kevin was introduced to a lot of “firsts” during our shoot. It was his first time in the grass and his first time seeing bubbles. I’m not sure he was much of a fan of either, but I still like this shot anyway.

Seriously could he BE any cuter? I think I could have photographed him all day.

New sample album (St. Louis wedding photographer)

I love this album. I have been anxiously awaiting its arrival for what seems like forever, although I must say this new company I tried out is SUPER fast. A little disclaimer before looking at the photos: I am a horrible product photographer! I did not do this album justice, so you’ll just have to set up a meeting with me to see it in person. Haha!

It’s a pearl leather cover, with a metallic cameo cover. It’s so beautiful and elegant. If you’re a current client and haven’t ordered your album yet, you should seriously consider upgrading your album. The cameo just really adds something spectacular, and the 12×12 size is just phenomenal. I highly recommend it!

This flushmount album is SO well made.

Here’s a sample of my design. I like the images to do the talking, so I go for clean + modern layouts.

I love to design albums with at least 2 full spreads. They rock my world!

PS Don’t forget to check out the Engagement Session contest in yesterday’s post!

Miss Kaitlyn: Children’s Session (St. Louis baby photographer)

When Kaitlyn’s mom emailed me asking if I wanted to do another shoot with her, I was super excited. I photographed her when she was about 4 months old. When I saw her for her 1-year session, I barely recognized her! Her dark hair is gone, and it’s grown – and so has she! She’s just a doll. I can only imagine how much fun she’s going to have growing up with 2 energetic older brothers! I got to photograph them too because they wanted some lifestyle family pictures as well. Thanks for looking!

A grand day (St. Louis wedding photographer)

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing a truly elegant wedding. Every last detail was perfectly beautiful. Sarah + Matt are a fabulous couple, and it was so great to finally meet them.

Thanks for looking!

Sarah had some killer shoes, and I do mean that in 2 ways. They looked hot, but I can’t believe she could even walk in them!

Waiting to see Matt. I LOVE when couples chose to see each other before the wedding. We have so much more time for photography. I highly recommend it to ALL my brides.

First look.

This one cracks me up.

Their ceremony + reception took place at the Grand Renaissance, and it was GORGEOUS. Love this staircase.

The Muny in Forest Park is always a favorite for wedding photos. I was thrilled we were the only ones there. That NEVER happens.

Ok, now tell me, doesn’t he look like Kurt Warner?! I totally think so. He said he gets that all the time when they’re in St. Louis. (They live in Kentucky right now.)

I think this is my favorite shot of the day. And if you hadn’t noticed, Sarah loves to laugh. And I love that. I’m sure Matt does, too.

Matt’s dad + brother before the ceremony. What do you think they were up to?!

My wonderful hubby, Dan (an Army photographer), second shot this with me, and he captured this shot. LOVE IT.

The Grand Renaissance is a gorgeous, elegant place to get married. And the chandelier is to die for. Just amazing.

I have to tell ya that this cake smelled so incredible. Everytime Dan or I walked by it, we could smell the sweet goodness in the air. And I can’t say that I’ve ever actually smelled cake. I bet it tasted even better than it smelled. And it was so pretty, too.

Sarah’s sister gave probably the best wedding speech. Ever. I won’t get into the embarrassing details, but let’s just say everybody was entertained. Even Sarah.

Aaaah. First dance. They’re so perfect for each other. They’re beautiful people, on the inside and out. I’m so lucky I had the opportunity to share their day with them. Thanks you guys! I had an amazing time photographing your wedding.

Stephanie + Doug (St. Louis wedding photographer)

I’m so excited to share these images on the blog! What a beautiful, sweet, fun couple this was, and can I just say again how excited I was to second shoot with Alisha Clark?! It was so fun to see her in action, and to get to shoot a wedding at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. You can’t go wrong with a wedding there. Seriously. And the food was probably the best wedding food. EVER. Now, on to the pictures. And please forgive me, I couldn’t control myself. I had to post a million pictures of their gorgeous day!

Stephanie had an amazingly gorgeous dress. Perfectly elegant for a garden wedding.

All the girls getting ready at the Four Seasons.

Maid of honor showing off her guns!

Just got the dress on…

Success!

Veil time.

Stephanie + Doug decided to see each other BEFORE the wedding, which I HIGHLY recommend. It allowed for SO much more photography time, and the first-looks are always so sweet! I love how happy they both look!

The groomsmen were hanging out at the bar before picture time!

Then everyone headed outside for group photos on the balcony at the Four Seasons. Her veil didn’t want to cooperate, but it made for a great moment! I love “veil in the wind” shots.

Then it was off to the MO Botanical Gardens, where they got to see their dog aka the ring bearer. How cute is he?!

Before the ceremony, we had more time for photos of just the 2 of them, and we had some gorgeous light! Not to mention the fabulous locations Alisha chose. GORGEOUS!

By far, my favorite of the day. It makes me sigh. They are SO in love.

Checking out the rings and bustling the dress!

And on to the reception!!!

Check out these eyes! (St. Louis baby photographer)

Tessa’s eyes are so big and beautiful! This was a re-shoot from last week. We had MUCH better luck this time. She only peed on her mama one time. Here’s a quick little preview of  this little sweetie. I can’t wait to show the full preview. It’s coming tomorrow, along with a bunch of personal updates, too. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited Aidan and I are to have Dan home from Japan. Happy Tuesday everyone.

Sunny days

After so many dreary, cold days, Aidan and I are thrilled to see some glorious sunshine and a hint of warmth in our days. After living in Texas for 5 years, I guess we became accustomed to the sun and heat. I really loved the cool days during the holiday season, but now we’re ready for spring! Bring it on!

I was finally able to take Aidan to the park yesterday, and while we were there, Aidan gave his “new, new bike” a spin. I’ll have some pics from that later, but just wanted to throw up a sweet shot of my lil guy really quickly. Must get back to editing baby pics!

Where has the time gone?

Seriously, I have no idea. It feels like I blinked and December is almost gone. We’ve hardly even had time to really get in the Christmas spirit this year! I think mostly because of Dan being sick and in the hospital, and then we both had really bad colds for weeks. I’m really excited to see Aidan’s reaction to Christmas this year though. He’s going to be so excited to open gifts and do all the Christmas things. We’re taking him to see Santa today. I’m really not sure how he’ll react. He may be excited, but I can also see him crying – as many kids do. We’ll just have to wait and see.

And…I can’t believe my baby is going to be 2 on Sunday. It’s crazy. Anybody who knows me well knows I have just the most awful memory, but I remember the day our little boy came into the world like it was yesterday. He’s growing up way too fast! Um, we were at the doctor’s office on Friday because he dislocated his poor little elbow, and Aidan weighed in at 37 pounds! Eeeeek! No wonder it’s so hard to carry him up all those stairs. He’s sturdy, though, not chunky at all really.

So between getting ready for Christmas and Aidan’s 2nd birthday, things are just nuts around here. That’s why I haven’t been a great blogger. But hopefully tomorrow I’ll have some Aidan and Santa pics for you!

It’s canvas time!

I’m so excited it’s here! It feels like I’ve been waiting forever, when in reality, it was less than a week. Super fast! This is my very first canvas, and I must say, it definitely will not be my last. They’re expensive but absolutely gorgeous! I love that I got to try out a new product with my handsome son, Aidan. It’s a 20×30 canvas, and I have lots of shots from every angle just so you can really appreciate all the details.

Here’s what the original image looked like.

Full shot looking into the dining room from the living room.

This is a closeup of the wrapped edges. There’s a little bit of a scuff mark on it, but that was from me hanging it up before I actually took the pictures of it. Should have done that BEFORE hanging, right?!

The texture of the canvas…

Here’s the hardware that was a small extra charge, but it makes it super easy to hang!

The subject with the canvas. He’s looking a little scruffy here because he had just woken up from his nap! Notice the crazy hair. Oh, and please excuse the really terrible light in our living room.

And here it is looking lovely on our wall. I completely, totally love it. I can’t wait to buy more. :) Don’t tell Dan.
